KSJ Drama Club performs
On Wednesday 9th July 2014 the children of Miss Cadwallader’s drama club showcased the work they had been doing on mask, mime and movement this term.


Year 6 enjoy a day at St. Mark's
On Tuesday 15th July, Year 6 spent the day at St. Mark's college, taking part in outdoor and adventurous activities. It was a great way to spend the day after a year of hard slog!

KSJ stars of ITV news
The Tour de France visiting Saffron Walden was already an unforgettable experience. For 25 children in years 5 and 6, the day will be one to remember for a long time to come.

KSJ are Essex Swimming Champions!
It has be a fantastic journey with some falls and some leaps but we have progressed to the Essex final.

Gym and Dance Squad perform at Carnival
On Sunday 6th July, the Gym and Dance squad performed a piece on the Common in Saffron Walden.

Year 3 and 4 Outstanding Day
On Wednesday 2nd July, Years 3 and 4 held their Outstanding Day. This was to celebrate OFSTED's grading of Outstanding for the Junior School this year.

World Cup Assembly
On Wednesday 2nd July, the children from Year 3,4 and 6 enjoyed a World Cup themed music assembly


Summer Concert at KSJ
On Thursday 26th June, Katherine Semar celebrated music with it a concert. As usual, the orchestra performed, as did individual musicians and groups of children. Please enjoy the photos.

On Friday 6th June the semi finals of KSJ's Got Talent took place. Hosted by Mr. Hull, and organised by Miss Cadwallader, the last 16 acts took centre stage to show off their talents.

Year 4 pupil in last 25 in national BBC Writing Competition
Congratulations to Daniel Webber, a Year 4 pupil, who is through to the last 25 in a national writing competition.

Swim Gala Victory
Hot on the heels of their previous Gala win, the Year 5 and 6 gala squad competed in the next phase of the competition.

Out of School Achievement Assembly
On Tuesday 29th April, Year 5 & 6 pupils shared their Out of School Achievements in assembly. Children have been achieving great things in local teams in competitions locally and in the region.

Greek Day
On Friday 9th May, Year 5 were visited by an Athenian from Ancient Greece.

KSJ Students appear on BBC News
We were very privileged to be invited to Audley End House at the end of the Spring term, to witness the opening of the new Nursery wing.


Year 5 and 6 Outstanding Day
The theme was 'Brazil', and we had Samba Drumming workshops, Art Workshops, Dance Workshops and a Football World Cup.
To celebrate Katherine Semar's Outstanding grade from OFSTED, the children took part in a series of workshops.

Gym and Dance Festival
On Wednesday 12th March 2014, the newly formed KSJS gymnastic and dance squad attended the Uttlesford festival at Helena Romanes School in Great Dunmow.


On Wednesday 12th March, 5CW’s Amazon rangers lead Katherine Semar on a journey through the rainforest as part of their class assembly.

KSJ triumph at Netball Tournament
On Friday 14th March 2014, Katherine Semar sent four teams to compete in the family netball competition against other schools. Winning the two top groups was an excellent achievement. Well done to all.


5LC Class Assembly
On Tuesday 11th March 2014, the children of 5LC did an assembly on their learning about the rainforest.

Year 3's Viking Day
On Tuesday 6th March 2014 Year 3JD and 3JH learnt what it was like to live in Britain during Viking times.


Top Athlete visits KSJ
On Friday 7th March 2014, Kola Adedoyin visited Katherine Semar to help organise a training session for all children.

World Book Day
On Thursday 6th March, Katherine Semar celebrated World Book Day with a hat competition. The children chose a theme from a book and made a hat.

4EW Class Assembly

Guide Dog Assembly
On Wednesday 20th November the school enjoyed a special assembly with some very important guests.

Saffron Hall Music Festival
On Friday 28th February, the choir and orchestra performed at the Saffron Hall, in front of a audience of 400 people.

The Media Club have produced their first issue of Katherine Semar's Wow! Magazine.  Written by pupils, it's full of news, games, quizzes and much, much more...Read Issue 1

6CB Class Assembly
On Wednesday 13th November 2013 6CB performed their class assembly on World War Two.

Year 4 Visit Bhaktivedanta Manor
On Friday 27th September, we all came to school early because we had to go on our double decker coach to Bhaktivedanta Manor.

Year 3 Visit Cromer
On Friday 27th September 2013, Year 3 travelled to a beautifully sunny Cromer as part of our seaside topic.
As soon as we arrived, we set off for the Henry Blogg Museum.

KSJ get new football kits
Here are year 6 pupils sporting the schools new football kit which was very kindly donated, along with some football's and training equipment, by Plantation Youth Football Club.
