End of Year Assembly
We held our final assembly to celebrate excellent attendance, house points being won and swim gala winners too. See who won what!


Summer Fete 2013
Under rather cool, grey skies, the Katherine Semar Schools held their summer fete on Saturday 18th May.


Year 3 and 4 tennis competition
On the 20th June, the children who have received tennis tuition represented Katherine Semar at a inter-school tennis competition.

Celebrating our Music
It's time to share some of the photos of our choir and orchestra. We were very impressed by their performances during the Spring Term Music Concert, and are looking forward to our next concert near the end of the Summer Term.

History Off the Page
On Tuesday 8th May, Year 5 were visited by Master Thadeus, an Athenian from Ancient Greece.

Year 5 visit the 'rainforest'
On Wednesday 24th April, Year 5 went by bus to Cambridge Botanical Gardens.

KSJ Vs St. Thomas More Cricket
It was smiles all around in the beautiful sunshine as Katherine Semar's cricket team beat St. Thomas More by 28 runs.


High Fives Netball 2013
On the 17th April 2013 KSJ netball team went to Birchwood high school to play in the netball tournament.


Mothers' Day Celebrations
The PTA made a splendid job of organising the Mothers' Day secret room. The children made their own flower arrangements. we hope all mothers had a lovely day.

Viking Day
On Monday the 11th March Year 3 had a Viking Day. All the children dressed up as people would in the Viking times.

5JD Class Assembly
On Tuesday 12th February Class 5JD held their class assembly. 5JD enjoyed sharing all their learning this term on rainforests, showing cross curricular links within their geography learning, literacy creative writing, science and art.

4HM Class Assembly
On Tuesday 12th March, 4HM presented a very entertaining assembly to a packed hall of proud parents and excited children.

Learning Ladders
Your children have been using Learning ladders in Writing since the Autumn term 2012 and will soon be introduced to the Reading Learning Ladders.

Here are the Learning Ladder files for Writing and Reading. These will help you to understand what your child needs to do next in order to improve.

3LT Assembly
On Tuesday 5th February, 3LT performed their Class Assembly which was focused on their History topic, The Romans.

George wins Carol Writing Competition
We are delighted to report that George in Year 4 has won first prize in the Junior section of the recent carol competition run by the Saffron Walden Choral Society.

At out Autumn Term, Out of School Hours Achievement Assembly, we heard about lots of exciting hobbies and sports children at our school enjoy.

Mr. Humbug sees the Light
On 7th December 2012 Katherine Semar Juniors lower school put on a play of Mr Humbug sees the Light.

Lots of Snow Fun
The children of KSJ enjoyed their first true taste of winter on Wednesday 5th December as snow settled on the ground.

Shoebox Appeal
On Wednesday 25th November, KSJ sent off our decorated shoeboxes in a big white van as the boxes began their long journey to make Christmas time special for some children in far away places, probably Kurdistan.

Year 4 visit Bhaktivedanta Manor
On Friday 30th November, Year 4 went to Bhaktivedanta Manor. 


5CW Class Assembly
On Tuesday 20th November 2012, 5CW performed took everyone back in time to experience what life was like during the Victorian period.


4HM Class Assembly
They told everyone about all the fabulous things they had learned so far in Year 4 and showed a selection of their best work.

On Thursday the 15th of November, KSJ faced STM in a football match. A match report by Corey and Anton.

On Wednesday the 21st November 2012 on a freezing cold, rainy day, KSJS played in a football match against Friendís school.

Cross Country Finals
On Wednesday 15th November 2012 two teams from KSJS  went to run in the Uttlesford family cross country running competition.

On Friday 9th November, Mr. Hull and two children from Year 6 travelled to Tesco to receive a bundle of goodies as a reward for collecting Tesco vouchers last year.

Year 5 Visit Audley End
On Thursday 4th October Year 5 walked down to Audley End House. Dressed in Victorian clothes the children were very excited.
